Here are some FAQ about prices.
Q. What is the price and what does it include?
A. The price for two songs is $3900 (including GST). This includes ….
4-5 days in the studio recording your two best songs
Accommodation at the studio, if you require it, for up to 5 people
All recording time & producer fees
Equipment hire (drum kits etc)
Recording live drums (if required)
Session musician costs (if required, drums, guitar, bass, synth, vox can
all be arranged)
Mastering
Pre-production, where Stuart offers suggestions for your songs
Career guidance and advice
Promotion to record labels, managers, radio and publishers
Advice on contracts, deals and offers
Ongoing song critiques and mentorship
If you're in an interstate band, you may want to drive here and bring your equipment, although guitars, basses, synths and drum kits are supplied at no extra charge. Many bands fly and simply bring their guitars, cymbals and snare drum.
Q. Do you have any payment plans etc?
A. No. However, you can pay on credit card. We take VISA, Mastercard, Bankcard.
Q. When does the money have to be paid?
A. In full at the start. You need to either bring the amount in cash to the studio on the first day, or pay by credit card or cheque prior to your arrival. Before that, we’ll need a 10% deposit. The deposit is not refundable, unless we are physically unable to provide the service we promise.
Q. What is the price for just one song?
A. Generally, Stuart doesn’t work on anything less than a 2 song project. It’s impossible to market an artist to the record labels with just one song. Two or three is the standard. The basic price per song (not including flights, accommodation, CD’s or anything extra) is $1950. If you are keen to record, but can’t afford anything more, call us and we’ll talk about it.
Q. Money is not really a problem – can I do more than 2 songs?
A. In many ways, singers who do 3 or 4 songs have an advantage over those who only do 2. Inevitably, record labels will ask you for more material if they like your first CD. For 3 songs, the price will be $4900. The price for 4 tracks is $5800. For 5 songs, the price drops significantly - $6500. In general, please allow two days per song.
